With your assessment results and career recommendations in hand, it's time to talk about them with your parents, career counselors*, and people working in the career fields you're considering. Completing the assessments and processing your results through AI helps to advance and focus your conversations with the people who can help you launch a career, but talking your PRESS results over with those people who can help you start that career is essential.

* If you’re still in school, discuss your PRESS results with your career counselor there. If you’re not in school anymore, check with the U.S. Department of Labor or your state department of employment and/or economic development about meeting with a career advisor. They may ask you to complete additional assessments such as the CareerOneStop Interest Assessment and Skills Matcher.

Anyone you talk to for help launching a career will appreciate you sharing your assessment results and AI recommendations as a starting point. You're not asking them for help without having any idea of what you want or avoiding asking for help because you don’t know how to start the conversation. Showing them your PRESS results makes their help more valuable to you, as it helps them identify specific actions you should take or connections you should make to launch your career successfully.

Additionally, practicing professional networking by talking with others about careers is arguably as important as picking the right career for yourself. Discussing your PRESS recommendations with those around you to make networking connections in the careers you think are promising is better than applying to job postings where nobody knows you.

Even if your desired career requires more school or other accomplishments as table stakes for an entry level job, think of yourself as starting that career as soon as you start those things. Getting into that mindset will boost your motivation and sharpen your focus on completing all the career field’s entrance requirements. By knowing yourself and having substantial data and recommendations pointing you in a promising direction, you can put a lot of energy into your career pursuits with confidence and a high likelihood of success!

Congratulations on finishing the PRESS – you’re ready to get PAID, aligning your personality, aptitudes, and interests with in-demand careers!
