Intro to the PRESS and Getting PAID
Updated: Aug 4
The PRESS can be especially helpful for young adults who want to start discussions about careers but are struggling to for reasons like these:
- They are so unaware of the career options out there that they don’t think to initiate conversations about starting a career
- They feel embarrassed about not knowing what career they want to pursue yet and thus are uncomfortable bringing up the topic
- They figure there’s no point in discussing careers because they don’t know what they want to do yet
The PRESS can also help for someone who’s trying hard to launch a career but what they’re trying just isn’t working for some unknown reason. The PRESS is a low-cost, low-risk way to help young adults get unstuck and on their way to career success.

Value the PRESS provides you
Completing the PRESS will help you have more advanced and focused career discussions with the people who can help you. Sharing your results at the start of the conversation will help them to help you choose and effectively pursue an in-demand career you enjoy and are good at.
How does the PRESS help you get PAID? The PRESS traces where others' success comes from so you can learn to be successful from that. You'll get PAID by completing the PRESS, learning how your personality type, aptitudes, and interests fit into in-demand careers. Here's the flowchart from the PRESS video again:

How the PRESS works, reverse engineering the success of others to achieve your own.
Simply put, successful people know what they have of value to offer the world, and they've been trading that value to get the wealth and success they have today! You need to know what you have of value to offer the world (you do have something) so that you can trade that with those needing it to accrue your own wealth and success!
Setting expectations
Expect completing the PRESS to take a handful of hours in total; it’s better to space out the assessments over a full day, taking breaks between every few. Make sure that when you take your assessments, you are well-nourished and hydrated, well-rested, and not currently under acute stress. If you get test-taking anxiety, don’t think of this as a test; you don’t pass or fail by completing any assessments or the PRESS as a whole, it’s just to help you understand who you are and where you could fit well in the world of work.
